Nuggets of Wisdom from Erin:
“God doesn’t call us to be successful; he simply calls us to be faithful.” – Mother Theresa
I’ve always been a perfectionist type of person. I’m a first born and I think it comes with the territory and it was just part of my personality as a teenager: Success was having the really good grades. I had to learn to be faithful in what God has given me today. And not put undue pressure on myself to meet the world’s standards of success. My version of success doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s. I don’t want to sacrifice success with my family for other successes. Just learning to slow down and be faithful in what is right in front of me today and take baby steps as success; and not beat myself up when I don’t look like the world’s version of that.”
“When we are trying to make decisions about business or life, cutting out the fat and just focusing on the meat; and on what is truly essential. One thing that I was convicted in, was the amount of time I spent on emails. Then realizing this, my time on emails, on social media, those things are really preventing me from doing the meat of my business and what I need to keep it going. Just really having that mindset shift and knowing what is essential. As women, as moms, we can’t do it all and do it all well. If we need to cultivate some passions, hobbies or businesses, while also keeping husband, home, and family alive and vibrant, then what is truly essential? Let’s cut out or curb the amount of time we spend on the rest.”
What does it mean to be a Vibrant Happy Woman?
“Not sacrificing the joys of today on the altar of the future. Focusing on where has God called me and not looking at what everybody else has. I want to be a mom. I want my family to come first. I also want to write. I feel God has gifted me with both. Also it means having boundaries in your life and focusing on the things that are the most essential. For me, the most essential things are my relationship with God and my family. I love to write. I love to encourage other women.”
