After earning my Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies in 2003, I chose to be a stay-at-home mom for our now 6 kids.
Somewhere in the middle of my stay-at-home-mom experience, I hit rock bottom. I felt exhausted, depleted and overwhelmed by the never-ending to-do list and not being a “good enough” wife and mom.
Me-time was a vague memory from the past and I felt fragmented and stretched thin. I'd lost myself and had no clue how to claw myself out of the hole I'd gotten into.
In 2010 I had a traumatic miscarriage, which became a wake-up call. I vowed, “Enough! I'm not going to spend another day feeling miserable!” Thus began my journey of happiness. After lots of research, observation and my own trial & error, I created a step-by-step formula for meeting my own emotional needs and living a vibrant, happy life – even when life gets hard.
